With flight numbers of 11 | 5 | -1.5 | 3, the Defy in Fission plastic is slightly less stable, making it a great choice for easy but reliable distance for all arm speeds. The Fission Defy will still remain the line-locking, forward-finishing driver it’s expected to be, but now – thanks to it being available in lighter weights – more players can enjoy it! The Axiom Discs Defy is straight with a nice bite of overstability at the end, and is best described as a more stable MVP Photon or a longer Axiom Clash. The Defy exhibits remarkable resistance to turnover even at high power. Players seeking a long straight power driver will appreciate the line-locking tendencies of the Defy, and throwers not fully powering the Defy will still get a highly useable long overstable disc.
Newer players will likely NOT see big distance gains from the Defy.
Fission™ Microbubble Technology produces an ultralight core with evenly distributed weight reduction microbubbles. The ultralight core allows an even higher GYRO® meaning they are easy to spin and throw far.
This produces an entirely new type of lightweight disc never before seen in the sport, and beyond the capability of any other manufacturer. Weight distribution, stability, and durability of prior “bubble” discs are all improved upon by Fission.

Discs come in a wide variety of plastics. Some are better suited for certain scenarios than others, others are simply better quality and will last longer.
Every brand has their own names for the different plastic types. We’ve put this chart together as a general reference the next time you see a plastic name and want to know how it fairs!
All three of these brands are made by the same company.
MVP and Axiom have an extra molded edge that makes them a little bit better in the wind.
MVP have black rims, Axiom have coloured rims.

R2 Neutron Plastic The environmentally conscious choice because it's made from recycled plastic. Almost all are Black with a white rim. It offers the same feel as Neutron and similar durability. If it's not a perfect mold then MVP won't sell the disc, instead they'll chip it into tiny pieces (recycled). |

Plasma Plastic Possibly the worlds most Advanced Disc Golf Polymer. The result is a highly durable premium blend with a metallic sheen. It is also a grippy premium blend and often has colour changing qualities. |
